My interactive installation reflects on people’s agency and power in relation to technology. The lack of clarity and safety inscribed in rigid technological systems is at the core of the work.As soon as you enter the space you are already visualized, and analyzed by the mechanistic gaze. In a second moment you are being invited to “come closer“ into the space.
When you do walk closer to the message, a movement sensor triggers a disturbing and harsh sound, reflecting the fake premises of technology. The sensor,though, is also triggered by the dynamic codes projected onto the space.
When you approach the question box you are faced with questions about surveillance and safety but the answer box always glitches,either by randomly changing the order of the letters or by dropping them, evoking again this sense of impotency towards your agency.
